Vala is basically me, but a dog. A simple extension of myself, rather than much of a character. What little story there is to tell, "Vala" is "knucklebone", from an old Icelandic dictionary. The Elkhound is a robust hunting spitz with roots in ancient Scandinavian culture, predating many other breeds. It is believed that a warrior's dogs guide him in the afterlife as he aids the gods, and so men were buried with their canines. The Elkound breeds survive to this day.
