About Me:
Heya! I'm fairly new to the area and I'm trying to get to know some people.
Reading is one of my biggest hobbies. I love a good book, and much of my free time is spent with my whiskers brushing the pages of one. Anything outdoors. Fishing, camping, 4x4ing (I used to have a jeep and I really love the rocky bits. Mud is fun too, but it's a ton of work to get off.) I'll ride a bicycle anywhere, but I don't have one at the moment(or a car, but I'm working on both situations). I like working with my hands a lot, and I have a soft spot for puzzles. I'm a HUGE geek. Doctor Who, Harry Potter, steampunk, fantasy, almost anything Sci-Fi. I've always wanted to try tabletop RP's like D&D, but I could never find anyone to play with. I have a WoW account with 8 different characters, but I don't play as much as I used to. I absolutely adore music, and it's almost always running in some form or another. I have a guitar, but I don't know how to play. I love to travel. I'm always up for a road trip, planned or otherwise. I've been trying to hone my artistic talent, too. I can fairly work a pencil and sketchpad, and I'm somewhere in the middle of writing a steampunk novel, but I've run into writer's block on that.
I'm mostly a night cat, but with enough coffee (lots of sugar, and sometimes milk or creamer) I can be persuaded out of bed at most times of day.
I don't much care for shallow or flat personalities, or cynics. I relish intellectual conversation, and I'll talk for hours on end about philosophy, science, art, news, the cosmos, whatever, but not "what's up". I have terrible social anxiety, so I need time to get used to crowds, or new people, but I'm really open once I get to know someone. I do a lot better in crowds if I'm with someone I know. I've always wanted to go to a con, but I've never been able to friend to go with. I have Asperger's Syndrome, too. It's a form of Autism, but it's considered 'high functioning', meaning to most people I'm "normal", but I space out and get really quiet sometimes. Lot's of times, I'll nitpick over small details, or I won't pick up on a joke. I'm intelligent, but sometimes my reality check bounces, or I'll miss common sense things. I also tend to over-think stuff. It's really helpful when I'm working at a problem, but simpler things escape me every now and then.
